SPR-VA
Flexa SPR-VA Highly Flexible Stainless Steel Small Diameter Metal Conduit
Flexa SPR-VA is a highly flexible small-diameter conduit made from stainless steel with a no-stretch S-profile construction. It is designed for compact wire, cable, sensor lead, and fiber optic bundle protection where high flexibility and controlled conduit length are required.
The unjacketed S-profile construction provides flexible mechanical protection in tight routing areas, while the stainless steel material supports applications requiring corrosion resistance and higher temperature capability. The no-stretch construction prevents meaningful axial extension beyond the conduit’s installed resting length.
The no-stretch construction helps protect delicate fiber optic bundles and fine wires by preventing conduit elongation that could place tension on the material inside. The conduit may compress along its axis, but it does not extend beyond its installed resting length.
Best choice when compact stainless steel protection, high flexibility, no-stretch performance, and an unjacketed construction are required.
Compared with SPR, SPR-VA uses stainless steel rather than galvanized steel and provides no-stretch axial performance. Compared with SPR-VA-PVC, it is the unjacketed stainless steel option.
All SPR-VA small diameter conduit sizes share the following specifications:
- Material: Stainless Steel 304 (AISI)
- Construction: no-stretch S-profile
- Temperature Range: -200°C to +600°C
- Ingress Protection: IP40

Applications for SPR-VA Small Diameter Conduit
SPR-VA is used where compact wire, cable, sensor lead, or fiber optic bundle protection requires a highly flexible, no-stretch stainless steel conduit without an outer jacket.
Typical applications include:
- fiber optic bundle protection
- sensor lead routing and measuring equipment wiring
- compact machine wiring
- instrument and precision equipment wiring
- optical and laboratory equipment
- higher-temperature routing areas
- applications requiring corrosion-resistant stainless steel protection
Frequently Asked Questions About SPR-VA Small Diameter Conduit
What is SPR-VA small diameter conduit used for?
SPR-VA is used for compact wire, cable, sensor lead, and fiber optic bundle protection where high flexibility, no-stretch axial performance, and unjacketed stainless steel mechanical protection are required.
When should I choose SPR-VA instead of SPR?
Choose SPR-VA when stainless steel construction is required for corrosion resistance, higher temperature capability, cleaner environments, or higher material requirements. Choose SPR for general galvanized steel protection.
When should I choose SPR-VA instead of SPR-VA-PVC?
Choose SPR-VA when an unjacketed stainless steel conduit is suitable. Choose SPR-VA-PVC when the same stainless steel construction needs an added PVC jacket.
Is SPR-VA liquidtight?
No. SPR-VA is an unjacketed strip-wound stainless steel conduit with IP40 protection. For jacketed protection, consider SPR-VA-PVC.
What is the difference between no-stretch, low-stretch, and standard flexible conduit?
No-stretch conduit does not extend beyond its installed resting length, although it may compress along its axis. This helps prevent conduit elongation from placing tension on delicate fiber optic bundles, fine wires, or precisely routed assemblies.
Low-stretch conduit allows only a small, controlled amount of axial extension. It is suitable where limited movement remains within the application’s allowable tolerance.
Standard flexible conduit may permit more axial extension and is generally selected where stretch control is not a critical design requirement.
The correct choice depends on how much conduit extension the protected wires, cables, or fiber optic bundles can safely tolerate.
