USDR-M
Heavy-Duty Metric-Thread Fittings with a Swivelling Thread
FLEXA USDR-M fittings are straight metal-body conduit connectors with an external Metric thread that can rotate independently during installation. This swivelling-thread design helps simplify assembly by allowing the threaded connection to be tightened without rotating or twisting the connected conduit.
USDR-M fittings are available for selected FLEXA SPR, FLEXAgraff, and AIRflex conduit families, including non-liquidtight metal, liquidtight metal, and selected liquidtight all-plastic conduit constructions. Their swivelling external-thread design provides an alternative to conventional fixed-thread fittings where the threaded connection must be tightened without rotating or twisting the connected conduit.
Choose the USDR-M fitting by compatible conduit family, conduit size, Metric thread size, required ingress-protection level, and installation requirements.

How to Choose a FLEXA USDR-M Fitting
Select the correct USDR-M fitting by matching the following:
- Conduit family — confirm compatibility with the selected FLEXA SPR, FLEXAgraff, or AIRflex conduit construction.
- Conduit size — match the fitting to the conduit’s nominal size and outside diameter.
- Metric thread size — select the thread required by the enclosure, junction box, control panel, or equipment entry.
- Installation requirement — use the swivelling thread where the threaded connection must be tightened without rotating or twisting the conduit.
- Ingress protection — confirm the IP rating of the complete fitting-and-conduit combination for the installation environment.
For installations that do not require an independently rotating thread, select the corresponding US-M fitting family.
Frequently Asked Questions About USDR-M Fittings
What is a FLEXA USDR-M fitting?
A FLEXA USDR-M fitting is a straight nickel-plated brass conduit connector with an external swivelling Metric thread. The thread can rotate independently to simplify installation without twisting the connected conduit.
What is the advantage of the swivelling thread?
The swivelling thread allows the fitting to be tightened into an enclosure or equipment entry without rotating the conduit. This can simplify assembly and reduce twisting stress on the conduit connection.
Which conduits work with USDR-M fittings?
USDR-M fittings are available for selected FLEXA flexible metal conduit families. Compatibility depends on the exact fitting size, conduit family, and conduit construction.
What IP rating do USDR-M fittings provide?
Available USDR-M fitting combinations range from IP40 to IP65. The achieved rating depends on the selected fitting, compatible conduit, correct assembly, and installation conditions.
How do I choose the correct Metric thread size?
Match the fitting’s external Metric thread to the enclosure or equipment entry, then confirm that the same fitting is compatible with the selected conduit family and conduit diameter.
What is the difference between USDR-M and US-M fittings?
USDR-M fittings have an external Metric thread that rotates independently during installation. US-M fittings use a conventional fixed external Metric thread.
Need Help Selecting a FLEXA USDR-M Fitting?
IBIS can help identify the correct USDR-M fitting based on conduit family, conduit size, Metric thread, swivelling-thread requirement, ingress protection, and installation conditions.
