USB-M
Smooth-Bend Metric-Thread 90° Elbow Fittings for Flexible Conduit Termination
FLEXA USB-M fittings are metal-body conduit connectors with an external Metric thread and a smooth 90° bend. They are designed for terminating compatible flexible conduit where the conduit must change direction at an enclosure, junction box, control panel, or equipment entry.
The smoother bend provides a less abrupt routing path than a compact hard 90° elbow and can make wire and cable pulling easier. Their nickel-plated brass construction provides a durable metal-threaded connection and supports bonding continuity where required by the correctly assembled conduit system.
USB-M fittings are available for selected FLEXA SPR and FLEXAgraff conduit families, including non-liquidtight and liquidtight metal conduit constructions.
Choose the USB-M fitting by compatible conduit family, conduit size, Metric thread size, required ingress-protection level, and wire-pulling requirements.

How to Choose a FLEXA USB-M Fitting
Select the correct USB-M fitting by matching the following:
- Conduit family — confirm compatibility with the selected FLEXA SPR or FLEXAgraff conduit construction.
- Conduit size — match the fitting to the conduit’s nominal size and outside diameter.
- Metric thread size — select the thread required by the enclosure, junction box, control panel, or equipment entry.
- Bend requirement — choose USB-M where a smoother 90° conduit path is preferred over a compact hard elbow.
- Wire-pulling requirement — use the smoother bend where reduced pulling resistance or easier routing of larger wire bundles is important.
- Ingress protection — confirm the IP rating of the complete fitting-and-conduit combination for the installation environment.
- Bonding requirement — confirm whether grounding continuity is required for the assembled conduit system.
For a more compact hard 90° direction change, select the corresponding USW-M fitting family. For straight conduit entry, select the US-M family.
Frequently Asked Questions About USB-M Fittings
What is a FLEXA USB-M fitting?
A FLEXA USB-M fitting is a nickel-plated brass conduit connector with an external Metric thread and a smooth 90° bend. It is used where compatible flexible conduit must change direction at the termination point.
What is the advantage of the smoother 90° bend?
The smoother bend creates a less abrupt conduit-routing path than a compact hard elbow. This can make wire and cable pulling easier and reduce routing stress near the termination point.
Which conduits work with USB-M fittings?
USB-M fittings are available for selected FLEXA SPR and FLEXAgraff conduit families. Compatibility depends on the exact fitting size, conduit family, and conduit construction.
What IP rating do USB-M fittings provide?
Available USB-M fitting combinations range from IP40 to IP65. The achieved rating depends on the selected fitting, compatible conduit, correct assembly, and installation conditions.
How do I choose the correct Metric thread size?
Match the fitting’s external Metric thread to the enclosure or equipment entry, then confirm that the same fitting is compatible with the selected conduit family and conduit diameter.
What is the difference between USB-M and USW-M fittings?
USB-M uses a smoother 90° bend that can support easier wire and cable pulling. USW-M uses a more compact hard 90° elbow for installations where space is limited and the conduit must turn sharply near the connection point.
What is the difference between USB-M and US-M fittings?
USB-M is a smooth-bend 90° elbow fitting for angled conduit termination. US-M is a straight fitting for direct in-line conduit termination. Both use external Metric threads.
Need Help Selecting a FLEXA USB-M Fitting?
IBIS can help identify the correct USB-M fitting based on conduit family, conduit size, Metric thread, bend geometry, wire-pulling requirements, ingress protection, and installation conditions.
