The Diablo Controls XLP-8 is a compact, user-friendly, single channel vehicle detector with an exceptionally low current draw, making it perfect for solar applications. It can utilize either a standard inductive loop or a magnetometer sensor like the Diablo Controls’ “Free-Exit Probe”.

At idle, with no vehicle on the loop, the XLP-8 draws less than 1 mA (milliamp) of current. The combination of low power consumption and micro-size make it a good choice for solar powered, and remote installations.

It’s easy to install using the plug-in style wiring terminal strip and configures quickly using a 4-position DIP switch. Operates on 8 – 30 Volts AC/DC.
