The Microsonic bks-3/CDD is a compact ultrasonic web edge sensor for contact-free monitoring of the edges of paper, foil and other sound-impermeable web materials. Its ultrasonic operating principle makes it suitable for materials where optical sensing can be affected by transparency, colour, light conditions or paper dust.
The sensor features a 30 mm fork width, 33 mm fork depth and an 8 mm (±4 mm) working range with 0.025 mm resolution. Two selectable PNP switching outputs provide web-position signals for machine control, while the sensor’s teach-in function allows the required edge position to be set directly at the sensor.
