The Microsonic bks+3/FIU/A is a compact ultrasonic web edge sensor for contact-free monitoring and positioning of paper, foil and other sound-impermeable or slightly sound-permeable web materials. Its ultrasonic sensing principle allows reliable edge detection where optical systems may be affected by transparency, colour, ambient light or paper dust.
This version has a 30 mm fork width, 43 mm fork depth and a 12 mm (±6 mm) working range. It provides one selectable 4–20 mA / 0–10 V analogue output together with one Push-Pull switching output. IO-Link 1.1.3 and Smart Sensor Profile support provide additional parameterisation, process-data and diagnostic functionality.
