esp-4/M12/3CDD/M18 E+S Microsonic Ultrasonic Label & Splice Sensor Pair, 20–30 mm Spacing, M12/M18 Heads, 2 × PNP Outputs

The Microsonic esp-4/M12/3CDD/M18 E+S is an ultrasonic transmitter and receiver pair for non-contact label, splice and web-break detection. The transmitter sends ultrasonic pulses through the web material to the receiver. The sensor detects a change in signal when a label or splice passes through, allowing reliable detection even when the difference between the materials is very small.

This version uses separate M12 and M18 sensing heads with a 20–30 mm transmitter/receiver spacing and an optimal spacing of 20 mm ±3 mm. It provides two PNP switching outputs for label/splice detection and web-break monitoring. Three Teach-in methods and QuickTeach allow the sensor to be adapted to different materials and applications, while LinkControl can be used for optional parameterisation and commissioning. The mixed M12/M18 head arrangement provides a compact mounting option where installation space is limited.
