The Microsonic esf+1/CFF/Exp is the Expert version of the esf+1 ultrasonic label and splice sensor, designed for reliable detection of labels that can be difficult for standard ultrasonic label sensing. Labels pass through the 6 mm fork gap, where the sensor detects changes in the ultrasonic signal transmitted through the backing material as a label or splice passes through the fork. This allows highly transparent, reflective, metallised and differently coloured labels to be detected without relying on optical contrast.

The Expert version operates at 200 kHz and provides two Push-Pull switching outputs: one for label/splice detection and one for web-break monitoring. IO-Link and integrated recipe management allow settings for up to 20 label and backing-material combinations to be stored in the sensor and recalled during product changes, reducing the need for repeated Teach-in. The flat lower fork leg allows positioning close to the dispensing edge, while the swivelling M12 connector and two-position mounting adapter provide installation flexibility.
